Thank you so much for helping out with donations! My classes still need whiteboard markers (fine, but not ultra fine)-especially math class-, we need candy for homeroom for the piñata, and we also need students to bring headphones. If you can donate some to the class, that would be wonderful for those who do not have them. Most of my students do not have their own set of headphones.
This week is the buy one, get one free book fair! There is a box with my name on it in the library with books I would love to have for my classroom library if you're feeling generous!
This week's essential question is, "What are different kinds of energy?" Our comprehension strategy is asking and answering questions, our comprehension skill is cause and effect, and our vocabulary strategy is working on homophones.

We are starting a new chapter this week! We will be working on representing and interpreting data. This chapter comes pretty easily to most students, so I would encourage kids to continue practicing finding missing sides of shapes, area, and perimeter. You can find extra practice worksheets here and here.
We are finished with science and social studies in 3rd grade, so the two third grade classes are going to team up to reinforce math concepts and to put together a wax museum! Students will choose a famous person to study, then they will dress up as this person and stay still until a visitor presses a "button." They will then tell all about the person they studied.
