The Night of the Arts is coming up on Wednesday, February 27th! I would love it if all of my students would enter something- visual or performing arts! I have such an artistic group of kids this year!
Our essential question this week is, " How do animals adapt to challenges in their habitat?" We are working on expository texts, rereading, understanding the author's point of view, and responding to reading. We will not have spelling words this week, due to it being a short week. There will be spelling words next week, along with a new type of homework assignment that will start to prepare the kids for 4th grade.
We are working on fractions this week! Please continue practicing word problems with your student. The three most difficult concepts in 3rd grade math are multi-step, multi-operation word problems, fractions, and elapsed time. We are going to work hard on these concepts this year!
We are working on our unit on light and heat. Last week, my students planted seeds and put them in different parts of the classroom to observe what happens. They were so surprised to see that the tallest plants were in dark places!
